My name is Amanda Batzel and my fitness journey started over six years ago when my husband and I started fertility treatments to hopefully one day fulfill our dream of becoming parents. At the time, not only was I extremely overweight but my eating habits were terrible, I had a sedentary lifestyle and boatloads of stress. It was at this point I realized I needed to make a change. Not just a quick fix but an overall lifestyle change. I started small by making simple changes like making it a point to walk for 30 minutes after dinner each night that turned into getting a gym membership and then a goal of working out at least six days a week. I quickly realized that I loved being a student in a group exercise class. It was at that point that I decided that this is what I want to do, I want to be a group exercise instructor! Not only to help people get in shape but to motivate them to keep going,keep trying, and to always do their best. Many years later I can say it was one of the best decisions I've ever made to become a group exercise instructor. I am living proof that you can change your body change ,your mind and achieve your dreams.
Fast forward a few years and I I am a schoolteacher by day or group exercise instructor by night and a full-time mom to one amazing little girl! I am certified to teach a variety of classes from kickboxing to interval training to weightlifting. I specialize in women's Boot Camp classes, Tabata and Pound. Pound is one of my favorite classes that teach because it lets out your inner rockstar. It's a great way to get in shape let out your stress and have fun while working out. When you're rocking out to a Pound jam session you forget that you're working out.
